$100 3) ELECTRICAL PERMIT: $20 minimum fee on residential. $50 minimum fee on commercial. Reinspection fee - $10. Permit must be pulled by a master electrician licensed by the State of Texas. The city inspector will need to do an inspection before the electric company will connect power. 4) PLUMBING / GAS PERMITS: $20 minimum fee. Reinspection fee - $10. Permits for residential homes can be pulled by the owner. Permits for commercial buildings must be pulled by a master plumber. The city inspector will need to inspect work before the foundation is poured, again before the walls are insulated and covered for rough-in, and then a final inspection. Gas permit can be pulled by owner. For commercial buildings, the permit can be pulled by a master plumber only. The gas line must be inspected and air tested (50 PSI for 20 minutes not to lose more than 2 PSI) by the city inspector before service can be provided or restored. GAS LINE REQUIREMENTS: Steel required 2 feet above the ground, steel 90 degree elbow, steel first 4 feet underground away from meter. Schedule 40 PVC underground. Line can be installed by owner or plumber. The requirements of such permits are by order of city ordinances passed by city council. Failure to comply with these could result in fines up to $500. Code of Ordinances book shows other permits that are also required, such as Sellers permit, etc. |
